Becoming a Buddy is simple! Just connect with people in the app by joining events, messaging others, or sending Buddy requests to like-minded users. Once you’re Buddies, you can see and join each other’s Buddies Only events, making it even easier to build your social circle.

It’s super easy! Just go to the “Create Event” section, add details like time, place, and activity, and publish. Other users can then join, and you’ll be notified when they do!

Unlike Meetup or Facebook, BuddyUp Social is designed specifically for quick and easy social connections. It’s not just about big events but also about casual meetups and one-on-one connections based on shared interests, making it easier to find your people.

You’ll find a mix of small casual meetups, hobby-based gatherings, and larger events—from coffee chats and hiking trips to pottery classes and board game nights. You can also create your own events in just a few taps!

We take privacy seriously—your profile info is only visible within the app, and you can control what you share. We also encourage public meetups and provide tips for safe socialising. Your personal information used to sign up stays with BuddyUp Social and will not be shared with third parties. Make sure to not share any personal information in chats.

Currently, BuddyUp Social is only available in Denmark. We launched here first to focus on building a strong community and refining the user experience before expanding to other markets.

Aside from the event suggestions at the bottom of the home page, you can search for particular events of interests using the search bar at the top of the home page. Or if curious to what’s happening in your neighbourhood, then you can use the Find function which displays all events around you in either Map or List view.

Yes! The app is completely free to use. We believe in making it easy for people to connect without barriers. In the future, we may introduce premium features, but the core experience will remain free. In time we will be offering some more premium profile packages with extra services for our users, including corporate accounts. However our main mission is to remain free from random ads and pop-ups.

Unlike other apps, BuddyUp Social’s mission is to be as open and including as possible. So whilst you can create private events*, you cannot create permanent members-only groups. So if that’s your wish, we unfortunately cannot accommodate it. Events are live and momentary and 48 hours an event has ended, we will close the event as well as the event chat.

BuddyUp Social is a network community based on trust. To help ensure this, we have set up the app, so that you can only see, communicate with and add someone as a buddy if either of the following are met:

1) you’ve attended an event together

2) you have a mutual buddy.

We know - sometime’s life can get in the way… so if you are in the unlucky situation of having to change your attendance, then follow these steps:

1) If you’ve requested to attend, and still pending, click cancel request at the bottom of the screen. A pop-up will appear: confirm decision

2) If you’re set to attend the event, click cancel attendance at the bottom of the screen. A pop-up will appear asking for a reason. Answer and then confirm your decision.

Of course not. We hope you won’t want to, but you can always close or delete your BuddyUp Social account. This can be done via the app settings.

What a great way to meet new Buddies! As mentioned the app is currently only available in Denmark, but the hope is that you will soon be able to log in in every city and immediately get social with the local Buddies.

Only if you’ve previously attended an event together. We’d like to ensure the privacy and security of all members, so new Buddy connections can only be established once an initial link has been formed.

We encourage users to meet in public places and utilize our in-app event system, where hosts and attendees can see each other’s profiles. Plus, when we choose to enter collaborations, we only do so with trusted partners to offer verified experiences.

Yes! When creating an event, you can choose from three options:

Public – Open to all users on BuddyUp Social.

Private – Invite-only, meaning only selected users can see and join.

Buddies Only – Visible only to people you’ve connected with in the app.

This gives you flexibility, whether you're organizing an open meetup, a small gathering, or an event just for your in-app connections.

While BuddyUp Social is primarily for social connections, many events naturally lead to networking. Whether it’s meeting like-minded professionals, entrepreneurs, or creatives, you might find valuable connections through shared interests.

No pressure, but be mindful! Many events are casual, and some are even last-minute meetups. You can join or leave events easily, but if you change your plans, please update your RSVP to respect the host and other attendees, who may be planning based on expected participation.
