Signing up and becoming a buddy should be as easy as counting to three:

1) Download the app from your iOS device; 2) decide whether you want to use your email address, or connect through your Google or Apple account*; and 3) follow the simple sign up steps.

We’ve also tried to make it easy for you to tell (and show) others who you are - so be sure to pick your interests, add some photos and write your bio.

For now yes. But we have some buddies working non-stop behind the scenes to ensure we can include all our Android buddies soon!

Your personal information used to sign up stays with BuddyUp Social and will not be shared with third parties. Your phone number or email is used as login, but others will only see your name. Make sure to not share any personal information in chats.

BuddyUp Social was envisioned in Aarhus and kickstarted in Copenhagen and events can be created and sought out wherever in Denmark. For the moment, the app is only available in Denmark. But with every expansion we’ll be sure to let you know, because our aim is to connect you and be your digital plus one wherever your travels may take you. This country-by-country method is our way of making sure, that we ensure the best start possible in the weeks following our launch. If patience isn’t your forte, and we haven’t reached your city yet... then help us drive demand by following us on Instagram and let us know where to go next. That way you can tell us to speed up and launch in your city next.

Aside from the event suggestions at the bottom of the home page, you can search for particular events of interests using the search bar at the top of the home page. Or if curious to what’s happening in your neighbourhood, then you can use the Find function which displays all events around you in either Map or List view.

BuddyUp Social is another one of those freemium platforms. That means the app is free to use. In time we will be offering some more premium profile packages with extra services for our users, including corporate accounts. However our main mission is to remain free from random ads and pop-ups.

Unlike other apps, BuddyUp Social’s mission is to be as open and including as possible. So whilst you can create private events*, you cannot create permanent members-only groups. So if that’s your wish, we unfortunately cannot accommodate it. Events are live and momentary and 48 hours an event has ended, we will close the event as well as the event chat.

BuddyUp Social is a network community based on trust. To help ensure this, we have set up the app, so that you can only see, communicate with and add someone as a buddy if either of the following are met:

1) you’ve attended an event together

2) you have a mutual buddy.

We know - sometime’s life can get in the way… so if you are in the unlucky situation of having to change your attendance, then follow these steps:

1) If you’ve requested to attend, and still pending, click cancel request at the bottom of the screen. A pop-up will appear: confirm decision

2) If you’re set to attend the event, click cancel attendance at the bottom of the screen. A pop-up will appear asking for a reason. Answer and then confirm your decision.

Of course not. We hope you won’t want to, but you can always close or delete your BuddyUp Social account. This can be done via the app settings.

What a great way to meet new Buddies! As mentioned the app is currently only available in Denmark, but the hope is that you will soon be able to log in in every city and immediately get social with the local Buddies.

Only if you’ve previously attended an event together. We’d like to ensure the privacy and security of all members, so new Buddy connections can only be established once an initial link has been formed.
